The Vancouver Series
 October 2001 - December 2001

Picture if you will.  A man, working a lowly, menial, minimum wage job for 18 months.  Never in all that time has he allowed himself to have a vacation.  Then, one day, his two best friends, on their way to their home in Vancouver, stop in to say hi, and only spend a measly 6 hours visiting with him.  The next day, the friends leave for Vancouver.  What do you do?  Well, if you're like me, you go to your boss the next day, tell her you want the last week of the month off, and then head out to Vancouver for that week to hang with your friends!  That's exactly what I did for the last week of September 2001, and I got three months worth of columns out of it.
