Scarecrow Goes to Japan
August 2002 - March 2003

After two long years of working at Extra Foods in the city of Drayton Valley, I knew it was time for a change. Lucky for me, Chuck and L were already at work teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in Japan, and they had just one message for me: "Mark! You've got to try this! It's so easy!" I submitted an application, and lo and behold, the same company that hired Chuck and L hired me. So, I went off to spread the fun and joy of English to the good people of Kumagaya, a modest city just one hour's train ride from Tokyo. So, please, read my tales of fun from the far east, which began going online in August of 2002, but came to a premature end when my laptop broke down in March of 2003. Some final Japan refelctions and adventures will probably make their way into The Next Chapter.
